My Massage Journey
I got my first massage from Linda Thomas in 2003 at 104 S Jefferson St, Nashville IN. I couldn’t believe how good I felt. The first thing I said when I got up off the table was, “Why hasn’t anyone ever told me about this!?!” I was so impressed I started seeing Linda every three weeks for a full body massage.
After doing that for three years, one day I shared with Linda that I was sick of my cubical and wanted to quit my job and take a year off to read books, and just see what comes my way. Linda said, “Have you ever considered getting trained in Massage Therapy?” It had never crossed my mind, but it sounded interesting. She told me about Alternatives for Health Massage School in Columbus, Indiana. Their classes where Friday evening and all day Saturday every other week, so I applied and was accepted.
After completing 500 hours of training at Alternatives for Health and some additional instruction from Linda, I began sharing the office with Linda at 104 S Jefferson Street in Nashville in 2007. I worked both a full time job at Cummins during the day and offered massage therapy with Linda in the evening and on weekends until 2011.
In 2011 I quit my day job and opened my own office at 138 S Jefferson St, Nashville IN under the business name Michael’s Massage. In January of 2015 I purchased a Massage Envy franchise in Indianapolis, Indiana (Keystone at the Crossing). I sold that business in September of 2019 and moved my practice back to Nashville under the business name Brown County Massage in the exact same office where I received my very first massage from Linda Thomas in 2003, 104 S Jefferson St, Nashville IN.
I have come full circle, living my dream life in beautiful Brown County Indiana, where I get to offer therapeutic massage to locals and tourists.
